9 questions for 9 poets
Monday July 21, 2003
CA Conrad, a poet who also works in the medium of correspondence, has an interesting project going: he poses 9 questions to 9 poets and publishes the results.
It’s fascinating reading in the same way as any of the “conversations with poets” books -- who can resist a peek inside the mind of a poet whose poem speaks deeply to us? Conrad’s questions are of the sort that seems open to a wide range of responses, direct or fanciful, logical, flip or poetic -- he says “Some of the questions came from dreams, others from waking ideas.” The second set of 9for9 has just been posted at poets9for9.blogspot.com; I presume the series will continue there. The next 9for9 will be a live panel at The Philly Sound, New Poetry Weekend, Saturday, August 9 at Penn’s Kelly Writers House.
