Every War Has Two Losers
Monday November 10, 2003
from Milkweed Editions:
New out this month is a collection of William Stafford’s writings on peace and war, edited by his son Kim Stafford: Every War Has Two Losers, including never-before-published “journal excerpts, pacifist poems, interviews, and an account of his own near-hanging at the hands of American patriots.” Stafford was a conscientious objector during World War II, before he ever published a book of poems, and he spent his life as an advocate & witness for peace. This collection is necessary & welcome in this time of war.
