Winning Poems Selected in the November IBPC

Monday November 17, 2003
The current judge for the monthly InterBoard Poetry Competition (Wayne Miller) has announced the November winners -- interesting reading made more so by Miller’s extensive analytical commentary.
  • FIRST PLACE: “Sacrifice, Leaves and Whippoorwills,” by T.E. Ballard
  • SECOND PLACE: “To Go Miles In,” by Charles Cornner
  • THIRD PLACE: “You Finally Contact Me,” by Sherry Saye
Unfortunately none of the entries from our Poetry Forum was chosen. But hope springs eternal, and we think the gathering & selecting of poems to enter from our Forum is a worthwhile endeavor whether or not any of them “wins.” So choose the best poems you’ve seen on the Poetry Forum lately & get on over to the IBPC folder to nominate them. The deadline for December nominations is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28. And please remember to notify the poets whose poems you’ve nominated, to give them a chance to post the required permissions & information we must have before selecting a poem for entry in the IBPC representing our Forum.
