Thundering Word Heard’s 3rd anniversary

Friday January 16, 2004
from the inimitable T. Paul Ste. Marie in Vancouver, BC:
Thundering Word Heard celebrates its 3-year anniversary with an extravaganza & fundraiser this Sunday January 18, doors open 7:30 pm, show at 8:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door only, $7 to $10 sliding scale. There are no advance tickets, so arrive early, as this event will sell out in no time! Café Montmartre, 4362 Main Street (@ Main & 28th), Vancouver, BC, 604.879.8111.

Featured performers include former international slam champ Shane Koyczan, current international slam champ Mike McGee, the people’s republic of East Van’s hip hop beatbox free flow genius C.R. Avery, the bees knees-iest BC poetess Alexandra Oliver, singer songwriter jazzy hip-hopstress Monica Lee, belly dancer extraordinaire Kazmira, BC’s finest jazz DJ DutchBoy, one of Canada’s foremost female MC’s Shankini, the turbulent verbiage of Overload, humorously intellectual poetics by Barbara Adler, the dry wry dangerously insightful verses of Fernando Raguero, daredevil discussionist & freestyle humorist Daniel Packard, Francophone singer/songwriter Melanie Boucher, and the surreal verbal acrobatics of R.C. Wheslowski.

Your Guide Margy sez: Thundering Word Heard is a unique venue for collaboration both spontaneous & rehearsed among poets, musicians & other stage artists. It makes Vancouver one of the cities I’d like to visit again & again for poetic inspiration & fun. Sounds like a gotta-be-there evening to me!
