Pablo Neruda’s 100th birthday is July 12, 2004

Pablo Neruda (1904 - 1973) was a Nobel laureate, diplomat, exile & returned native son of Chile, the most respected & beloved Latin American poet, often called “the people’s poet.” His centenary is this year, prompting lots of publishing, filmmaking & celebratory activity.
