Winning poems chosen in the December InterBoard Poetry Competition
Monday January 3, 2005
In his first month as IBPC judge, David Hernandez has singled out three winning poems (& a couple of honorable mentions) in the December competition: Jim Doss’ “Searching for Poe’s Grave on Halloween, Baltimore, MD,” the “clear winner” for “its set rhythm and rich imagery”; Jacob Jans’ “Devil Tied Shoes” for its brevity, “turning from the profound to the mundane in half a breath”; and Michael Snyder’s “Window,” which reveals “a heart big as the moon.” Though none of our entries was selected, About Poetry Forum poets might recognize a familiar name in 2nd place: Jacob Jans’ moniker on our Forum is boplicity.
