One of ours is awarded honorable mention in the March IBPC
Wednesday March 16, 2005
Congratulations to first-time InterBoard Poetry Competition entrant Nicky Testavudo! His poem “pejorative requiem in medias res” caught the eye of IBPC judge Alex Lemon for an honorable mention in this month’s competition. The poetic theme this month seems to be mourning. Nicky’s poem is a requiem, and the other winners are all poems of grief, widowhood & coping with loss: “That I was here” by M, “Handless Woman” by Lynn Sweeting & “Widowed” by Ash Bowen.
We’re currently gathering nominations for our three entries in the April IBPC and our readers are invited to stop in the Poetry Forum and posting their favorites (not their own, but other poets’ work) in the IBPC folder. The deadline is Thursday, March 31.
