Poems representing our Forum in the July IBPC

Friday July 1, 2005
We’re proud to present the three poems selected as our Poetry Forum’s entries in this month’s InterBoard Poetry Competition:
  • “The Pavement Remembers,” by Douellet, a richly sensual evocation of the spirit of a place which won the mid-June challenge
  • “Lace Curtains” by MidusTouch, a soaring, chanting poem of love both domestic & romantic that caused one reader to crown her “the queen of villanelles”
  • “A Strand of Attention” by Ecrivain01, a poem which answers Mark Strand’s “Life makes writing poetry necessary to prove I really was paying attention.”
Kudos & luck in the judging to all three poets, and thanks to everyone who offered nominations or posted permissions. This is Aaron Welborn’s third month as IBPC judge. We’ll be back with an announcement when he has chosen the winners. In the meantime, please be on the lookout for poems you think should represent us in the IBPC, and bring them to Margy’s attention by posting your nominations in the IBPC folder.
