National Poetry Month comes around again
Saturday April 1, 2006
Is April truly the cruellest month? Surely not since 1996, when the Academy of American Poets launched the first National Poetry Month. Last year’s special AAP project for NatPoMo was the Poetry Book Club, a comprehensive set of resources intended to seed poetry book clubs across the country by providing suggested formats, book lists & reading guides for the classics. This year AAP’s National Poetry Month specials include a Poem-A-Day email, Poetcast podcasts, Life Lines, a collection of the lines readers carry through their lives (a la the Favorite Poem Project), and a calendar of poetry events across the country.
