Our Envoys to the December InterBoard Poetry Competition
With thanks to the Forum poets who stepped up this month and nominated their favorites, we’re proud to announce the three poems selected to represent our Poetry Forum in this month’s InterBoard Poetry Competition:
- “Small Talk and Parking Lots” by Shannon Monique Vandawalker, a densely symbolic picture of an enigmatic interpersonal encounter, praised by its nominator, BebopPoet, because “Every line packs a punch and it is SO authentic and evocative.”
- “30,240 Minutes Ago,” by Theo Vogdanis (boyatthewindow), a poem that delicately outlines internal change in the frame of a view out the poet’s kitchen window, and one that drew comments from its readers noting its “striking imagery” and “masterful artistry.”
- “The Benefit of Nostalgia,” by Jeffrey S. Lange (Runatyr), a delicious evocation of an autumnal mood carried in the sounds of rain and skittering leaves.
