Winning poems in the March IBPC
Monday March 8, 2004
John Poch has chosen three poems in domestic settings as this month’s winners in the InterBoard Poetry Competition: “Shut-In,” an interior still life by Teresa White; “The Empty Bowl,” a kitchen poem by Charlene Dewbre; and “Vagrancy” by Laurie Byro, which despite its title implying a focus outside the home is also ultimately a domestic poem.
Poch will serve as IBPC judge for one more month. A reminder for next month’s entries from our Poetry Forum: We collect nominations for entry in the IBPC on an ongoing basis, relying on your eyes to spot the best of the many, many poems posted in our Forum. If you see one worthy to represent us in the competition, nominate it by posting it in the IBPC folder, and be sure to notify the poet whose work you have put forward, to give them a chance to supply the information & permissions we must have before we can include the poem among our entries.
