FINDING POETRY IN THE WAKE OF THE STORM
We weathered Hurricane Isabel -- many of us were without power for 10 or more days, with undrinkable water, and not a lot of poetry! But were back and ready to rhyme and read! There are regular events in many cities in Virginia. Check your local bookstores, in particular independents and used bookstores. Most universities and colleges run regular readings. Sometimes if you want to find poetry, you simply have to look around (or do like I do: wear your Poetry Daily t-shirt (out of Charlottesville, VA) or an Austin International Poetry Festival hat with POET across the brim.
