By Bob Holman & Margery Snyder, About.com Guides since 1997

Like all the Guides at About.com, we are real people, and you can contact us with your questions and ideas. If you have a specific question about poetry or a poet, please check the resources on this site before you write to us:

    1. First try the search box that you’ll find on every page, or the tabs at the top of each page.
    2. You might find what you’re looking for by exploring the list of topics listed on the top of the Poetry home page, on the bottom of every page on the site, or the Poetry category listings.
    3. If you still haven’t found the answers you’re seeking, you can post specific questions on the Poetry Forum, where there is a large community of poets and poetry-lovers who may be able to answer you.
    4. Finally, you can write to us at the email address below.

    F.A.Q.
Can I suggest a site for you to link to, or ask you to review my site?
You can, but we make no promises. If you do submit a site for review, please identify it by putting “LINK SUGGESTION” in the subject header of your email and tell us which of our pages you’d like to see the link on. We will consider it the next time we review that page—but because we receive so many suggested URLs, it may be quite a long time before we do, and you will not usually receive a direct reply from us if we have decided your link suggestion is not a valuable offering for our readers.
    Will you read my poems?
We welcome your submission of poems for possible inclusion in our anthologies, but we do not reply to email reading requests and we cannot offer individual comments on your poems. The Poetry Forum is the place to post your work for feedback from readers.
Will you help me get my poems published?
Please understand that we wish you well, but we cannot offer individual assistance in your endeavor. We suggest that you consult our articles in this area:
Will you help me with my term paper research? Will you analyze a poem for me?
Please do not ask us to do your homework. We regret that we’re unable to provide free personalized research or analysis beyond what we write for this site. If you want help in reading a poem for yourself, we suggest you:
May I reprint some of your content?
Yes you can, by filling out the Reprint request form—use the “Reprints” link on the bottom of every page. The New York Times Company will quote you a fee for the use you propose. This applies to educational and commercial uses alike. There is no other permissible use of our content—any of our material that’s reproduced on another online site is almost certainly “borrowed” without permission, that is, stolen. You’re always welcome to link to an article on this site.
How can I comment about things you don’t control, like ads or promotions? Who do I contact about problems with About.com?
Send a message to gethelp@about.com for issues with advertising, navigation or any technical difficulties on our site.
How can I send you an email?
You can email us at poetry.guide@about.com. If you wish to direct your mail individually to one of us, please put either “BOB” or “MARGY” at the beginning of your subject line. We enjoy hearing from visitors to the Poetry site, and we do our best to read all the email we receive, but we cannot answer every message. Because of the voluminous quantity of spam that lands in our mailbox, it is strictly filtered and we may not actually receive your message. If you do not receive an expected reply after a week, try again.
