ACCIDENTS HAPPEN

will you hate this poem because I ate
a lollipop on the rollercoaster
when the sun began to kill my boner?

will you eat some red plum? its
juice dripping down your
dirty imagination, your dirty
chin and sugar coated tongue.

where is your face now?

don’t think I don’t know
about the two fingers
the one hard
day after work and
the hours spent on the couch.

and god, the happy way you
toast your bread
lounging in the sun with no
thoughts of dead mice
in little brown suits.

but please, the next time
you crawl on top
of my car seat
make sure to buckle
down into your questioning look
and remember, you’re my passenger
and I can’t have you distracting me
in certain ways.

Jacob Jans (Boplicity)

I AM MORE

I am a boat without oars
I float on magic waters
ready to take you in dreams
to wherever your thoughts
transport you

I am tropical palms
I provide you with shade
but when tornados come
I bend
and my leaves give
and I survive

I am clouds
I am elusive
Like beauty and love
I am full of promises
I shift shape—ever
appearing and disappearing

I am crystal water
I collect light
I dapple sand with shadows
and paint pure delight
I am blue in sunlight
and I reflect night

Suzanne Delaney (Pixordia)

A POET

A bastard,
born on the river bank
to a Gypsy girl,
violated by
the lord of the land.

According to tradition,
they pushed him down
into to the icy water,
to see if he will survive.

And when he came up,
all was frozen
except his eyes.

But his mother pampered him,
wrapped him in her arms
and his lips began to move.

The words he spoke
no one understood;
they just stared at him in awe.

But there was one
wise man among them,
who said:

“This boy will be a poet!”
