• General information about the IBPC

Each month the About Poetry Forum is entitled to enter three poems in the IBPC. We gather nominations on an ongoing basis in the Forum’s InterBoard Poetry Competition folder, where Forum poets are encouraged to post the best work they’ve seen among the many, many poems posted in our Forum. At the end of the month, Poetry Guide Margy Snyder selects the three entries from the nominated poems -- but she can only enter poems which are accompanied by the following required permissions & information:

  1. Permission to enter the poem in the InterBoard Poetry Competition representing the About Poetry Forum.

  2. Confirmation that the poem has not been previously published elsewhere, either in print form or via electronic media. (For the IBPC, “published” means any form of reproduction for which the writer received payment, either monetary or in kind. Posting on other online Forums like ours does not count as “published.”

  3. The name under which the poem should be submitted. (Your “real-life” name is preferred, but we will use your Forum login name or some other pseudonym if you choose.)

  4. The email address we should send to the IBPC editors with the poem. (This is in case they wish to contact the poet with questions or requests to publish an entered poem beyond the participating IBPC boards -- your permission to enter the poem gives permission to post it on the participating boards if it’s chosen as a winner or given honorable mention.)

  5. Confirmation of the exact text of the poem as we should submit it.
