Lunch at the Rose Garden
by nnenko

At the Bowery Poetry Club's regular Monday night “Free4All” young poet nnenko took the challenge and wrote an Abecedarian for Laura Bush:

Anarchy belies community
Deplorable existence
Forgotten genocide
H-Bomb
Insipid jealousy
Korean leftism masquerading nightly
Oppressed people quietly rising
Sanctuary torn under violent warfare
Xenophobic youth zombie

Nnenko Akpan says of self, “People ask what my poems are about, which I find funny. I live in NYC and there are so many stories, if you pay attention. So that's what I write about, other people's stories and sometimes my own. And when life gets too insane, I'll take a nightmare and turn it into a dream.”
