I leave it to the others to be fair. I must be truthful -- I still read books and watch my poetry live or on video. I use the Net for research: I always go first to Amazon.com for book/CD info, I always go first to Dogpile.com for metasearch, and Dogpile almost invariably leads me to poetry.about.com. If my RealPlayer worked I'd be 16 and live at MP3lit.com on Napster.
BOB'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
The Final Bend in the Road to Federico Garcia Lorca's grave.
GARY'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
A Writer's Choice Literary Journal, editor Leslie Blanchard on why it was founded: I'm an old hippie that believes we can change the world. Join our new mailing list: the purpose of this list is to bring attention to matters of injustice, human rights, animal rights, etc. & Larry Jaffe's Poets4Peace: this site is dedicated to peace... peace on earth... peace in the country... peace in the city.. peace at home... peace in life ... this site has no other purpose but to foster peace... let's work together to counterbalance the amount of hate and destruction in this world with our poetry... we can make a difference.
STAZJA'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
Best site other than poetry.about.com, because of the spirits who inhabit it: The Museum of American Poetics.
IAN'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
Teachers & Writers Collaborative: In their WriteNet are Poets on Poetry interviews, a virtual writing workshop, writers-in-online-residence. . . .
MARJ'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
This, of course, discounts poetry.about.com, which I have blatantly abused to find info on poets, both old and contemporary, with which I then pepper my literary conversation, but my two favorites are the Alibris poetry page, tied with Poetry Slam, Inc. At the Alibris, you can browse through rare poetry books, dream over signed first editions of your favorite poets, and find new wonderful voices. I love old books, and this is an old-book-lover's fetish page. And the Poetryslam.com Web site is still developing, but has a lot of promise. Soon they will be selling chapbooks from poets across the nation, and I have already used it as a resource to find poetry readings and slams at the places I have traveled to.
CRISTIN'S CHOICE WEB SITE BOOK CD PERFORMANCE
The Melic Review: Theme issues, serious poetry, light verse, excellent Logopoetry articles by C.E. Chaffin, lively discussion boards, a beautiful zine.
SHANN'S CHOICE WEB SITE CD PERFORMANCE
Vibe on this review for a cyber peek at Kamau Daa'ood, one of the most slamming poets in the country. He is a Master Poet & Performance Artist who makes words into musical compositions, tosses sentences like salad and uses jazz music for his dressing.
