by JD Goetz

Birds fly a little faster
As limbs lie in plaster
Majesty holds its shape
Floating beyond escape

Sharper is the dog’s bark
Cleaner is the whistling lark
Smooth is the talk of man
Silky corn in a can

Pouring out
Sorting out
Everything I am

Pages of The Book unturned
Tabled while the towers burned
Did the moon stop smiling
Because dishes were piling?

Or was it because
God’s broken laws
Played out before us
On everything glorious

Sorting out
Pouring out
Everything I am

JD Goetz is a poet who says “I've been writing poetry for about the last two years of my 41 years in all. I've always been intrigued by written language and how it can convey meaning. That's about all there is to what I do and why I do it.” His poet index will lead you to his many poems posted on the About Poetry Forum.
