Swiss Reggae Dub

Sometimes you find music of the reggae variety in the strangest places.... Way up in the Swiss mountains, my lady and I were waiting for promoter Alain Meyer to come out of a nightclub called Bikini Test in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, the highest city in Europe. Alain was sorting out some business with a band before we went back to his shack by the railroad tracks, I mean, his Swiss chalet by the ballet mechanique. Anyway, they’ve got wonderful chocolates in Switzerland and excellent clocks, but reggae? They have that, too, on a frosty evening.... What is this, brothers and sisters? Do I hear King Tubby’s “Jump Song Dub” coming through the window?
Outside the Swiss reggae club
We have to do the rub-a-dub
Just to stay warm...
It almost is enough
To put you off your puff
The Swiss Reggae Dub, Swiss Reggae Dub

A mile high in this mountain town
La-Chaux-de-Fonds, I hear the reggae sound!
Feelin’ like Jamaican bobsled team
Training in Switzerland, is it a dream?

Just to stay warm...
It almost is enough
To put you off your puff

The dealers come round with cheese full of holes
Maybe they poke them with their ski poles
And they sell you has browns they call “roschti”
Roschtiman vibration, yeah, they be Roschtifarian

Swiss Reggae Dub

We have to do the rub-a-dub
Just to stay warm...
It almost is enough
To put you off your puff
Swiss Reggae Dub, Swiss Reggae Dub

Call me a taxi ’fore I freeze to death
I am a taxi? Well, you got ganja breath
Everything’s gonna be all right
If we get out of here before the snowball fight.

We have to do the rub-a-dub
Just to stay warm...
It almost is enough

Three conductors found us on the train
Where are your tickets? was the refrain
We had nothing to offer but a smile
So we asked them to dance with us for a while

Swiss Reggae Dub
Join the Swiss reggae club
C’mon and do the rub-a-dub
Just to get warm...
It almost is enough
To put you off your puff
The Swiss Reggae Dub
