Jack Magazine
In the first issue, Mary Sands defined Jack Magazine as “where the parameters of the Beat Generation are redefined and expanded to embrace a creative movement that goes beyond personality wedged in temporal categories and public relations concepts,” and ever since she has been publishing a fascinating assortment of poetry & prose, eco-watches, politics, road trips & tea parties.

Jacket
Highest marks for making book go to our favorite Australian poet, John Tranter, who has leapt into cyperspace with 25 issues of Jacket. #1 superb intro to “hoax poet” Ern Malley was expanded & moved to #17, #2 is the Ashbery issue. There is a seam of text and image that we can cruise a drunk boat upon, and Tranter is a brainy sweet captain.
