Online poetry calendars, local poetry centers and organizations in the Northeastern states, including New England.
Albany Poets
The poets in Albany, New York’s capital, are organized and active, and the Albany Poets Web site has a quick and easy calendar and posts the current week’s events front and center.
BostonPoet.com
Diana Saenz’s BostonPoet.com provides a detailed Boston-area poetry calendar including both one-time events and ongoing venues, and poetry promoters can now publish their own events directly to the calendar.

The CT Poet
Faith Vicinanza’s weekly electronic calendar of Connecticut poetry events is accessible on the Web in several places — this one at The Fairfield Review’s site being most up to date. Go to The Connecticut Poet’s Yahoo groups site to subscribe to the email newsletter.
New Jersey Poetry Calendar
This reproduction of the print New Jersey Poetry Calendar is provided by the Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College in Paterson, the good Dr. Williams’ home town, and it was recommended to us by a reader as “the essential contact” for NJ listings.
Poetry NYC (from AAP)
Poetry NYC is an email newsletter from the Academy of American Poets offering announcements and reminders of upcoming readings and events sponsored by the AAP in the New York City area.
The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s
“The Poetry Project burns like red hot coal in New York’s snow” — Allen Ginsberg. What more can we say? Look at their Web site for a calendar of Project readings and workshops, pdfs of the Project newsletter and more.
Poets’ Asylum
Poets’ Asylum is both the Sunday reading series and the Web site produced by the Worcester Po8ry Project. They are dedicated to fostering performance poetry in central Massachusetts, but that also includes providing a calendar of events throughout New England.
Poetz.com Connecticut Calendar
Poetz.com has propagated its useful calendar format, developed for the Poetz.com NYC calendar, into a number of regional poetry calendars. In addition to her own CT Poet newsletter, Faith Vicinanza also curates the Poetz.com Connecticut calendar.
Poetz.com Hudson Valley Calendar
Bob Wright covers poetry events from Albany to Schenectady to Woodstock and all over upstate New York for the Poetz.com group of calendars.
Poetz.com Long Island Calendar
Barbara Reiher’s beat for Poetz.com is Long Island.
Poetz.com New York City Calendar
Billed as “the ultimate NYC poetry calendar,” Jackie Sheeler’s Poetz.com calendar really is — with more New York listings than anywhere else, highlighted editor’s choices for weekly series and one-time events and your choice of display options.
Poetz.com Pittsburgh Calendar
The listings on Margaret Bashaar’s Pittsburgh page are thin compared to the other Poetz.com calendars — but it’s still the place to look if you’re in Pittsburgh and craving poetry.
Poetz.com Vermont Calendar
